Bait Al Baranda was officially opened on 16 December 2006 by His Highness Seyyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture. The Visitors Center is under the Muscat Municipality and depicts the History of Muscat through interacti. Located in the heart of the tourist district on the seafront in Mutrah, Bait Al Baranda had previously housed the American Mission in the early 1930’s and the British Council in the late 1970’s.

 P.O. Box-423, Mina Qaboos, Al Bahri Road, Hellat Lehnud, Mutrah, Muscat 114, Sultanat of Oman.

 ·         Opening Hours

Open from Saturday to Thursday, 9.00am to 1.00pm and 4.00pm to 6.00pm. Closed on Friday.

 ·         Entrance

 RO 1/- Adult and RO .500 baiza per child. Café with indoor as well as al fresco seating is available.
